It is probably the easiest and quickest drop zone in the Munich area to reach. Thanks to its convenient location about, 1 hour via the A8 Munich to Stuttgart (exit Günzburg). Due to the good transport links the drop zone is ideal for all skydiver from Munich, Augsburg and Ulm. Günzburg’s catchment area covers a large portion of the south-western part of Bavaria.

The airfield Günzburg-Donauried is one of the nearest drop zones to Munich. The drop zone is located in the beautiful countryside of the western part of Swabia (Bavaria). With its proximity to the Alps it offers incredible panoramic views when tandem skydive in good weather. The views can also be enjoyed during the climb to your tandem jump before experiencing the adrenaline rush.


In Günzburg we use a Pilatus Porter PC-6 airplane for skydiving. With their excellent climb performance, the aircraft takes 10 parachutists in about 15 minutes to 4,000m. The Pilatus Porter has proven itself not only in Bavaria but also around the world as an aircraft perfect for skydiving. Easy boarding/exiting makes it ideal for a tandem skydiving.


When skydiving in Günzburg feel free to bring your friends and family. For refuelling and refreshments there is the airfield restaurant “Gaumenflug” or one of the many other restaurants in the vicinity. To take to those at home or as a reminder of your skydiving experience we also offer you the opportunity to record your tandem jump on Video and or as photos.

Other Activities in Günzburg

Günzburg is conveniently located in the middle between the two state capitals of Stuttgart and Munich as well as between the regional centres Ulm and Augsburg. The Tandem Skydiving experience can be excellently combined with a day or weekend trip to the region. Located close to the drop zone are many small lakes that offer an inviting jump into cool water after the tandem jump. Numerous restaurants in and around Günzburg ensure your physical well-being. At the drop zone there is the airfield restaurant “Gaumenflug”. The Legoland Park is just off the A8 München/Stuttgart exit Günzburg, it is probably one of the top attractions in the south of Germany and is well worth a family trip. Günzburg is an ideal starting point for trips to the Swabian Baroque with its many picturesque villages.

By car - from Munich the drop zone Günzburg is easiest reached via the A8 Munich towards Stuttgart.
Exit Günzburg on the A8, then turn right onto the B16 towards Günzburg. Stay on the B16. Over the river Donau, after the Günzburg town sign, on the righthand side is a parking place, 300m after this take a left turn.
Drive past the farm and before the runway turn left onto Otto-Lilliental-Weg. Drive past the airfield tower on the left, find a parking space, walk through the long building to the Club House. On arrival just ask for Steffen or a member of the Fallschirmsport Airtime! team.
